A familiar Tanzanian pairing returns on “Tangazo,” the fourth track from Harmonize's newly released sixth studio album, 31. The song brings together Harmonize and Marioo, two of Tanzania's prominent Bongo Flava voices, for another collaboration built around their established musical chemistry. The 14-track album was released on September 4, 2026.
The title “Tangazo” translates to “announcement,” and the song takes a playful approach to the aftermath of excessive drinking. Harmonize and Marioo turn stories of regret, questionable decisions and the consequences of a wild night into an entertaining record, with the central idea being a humorous declaration to leave alcohol behind.
Musically, the track leans into the accessible side of Bongo Flava, with Harmonize handling the lead while Marioo adds his recognizable melodic touch. Their voices complement each other naturally, giving “Tangazo” a lively, humorous character without losing the polished sound associated with 31.
The collaboration is also another chapter in the pair's history together. Harmonize and Marioo have previously worked on songs including “Naogopa,” “Away,” “Disconnect,” and “Wangu,” making “Tangazo” another addition to their growing catalog of joint records.
Placed directly after “Beautiful (Remix)” featuring Wande Coal, “Tangazo” keeps the album moving with a distinctly Tanzanian collaboration before the project transitions into “Huyu,” the fifth track.
