Black Sherif explores the softer side of his artistry on “Jolie,” the fourth track on his SUN SHERIF EP. The Ghanaian singer and rapper moves away from the heavier themes often associated with his music, delivering a romantic record centred on attraction, admiration and the emotional pull of being drawn to someone special.
Produced by Joker Nharnah, “Jolie” carries a smooth and melodic sound that gives Black Sherif room to express himself without the intensity of his more confrontational records. His distinctive vocals remain at the heart of the song, but the delivery feels more relaxed and affectionate, reflecting the warmer mood that runs through much of the EP.
The track also demonstrates Black Sherif’s versatility as a songwriter. Rather than returning to the familiar subjects of struggle and survival, he embraces romance and emotional connection, showing that his storytelling can be just as effective when the subject is admiration and desire. “Jolie” therefore adds another dimension to the evolving sound of SUN SHERIF.
Placed at Track 4, the song arrives after “Forever” featuring AratheJay and before “Frontline,” giving the six-track project a noticeable shift in atmosphere. Its position helps maintain the EP’s balance between confidence, vulnerability, romance and personal growth.
“Jolie” ultimately stands out as one of the more intimate moments on SUN SHERIF. It presents Black Sherif in a relaxed and romantic setting while preserving the individuality of his voice, making the track an important part of the EP’s broader exploration of love and emotional openness.
