After the passing of his grandfather, Michael Lane becomes the new head of the Arcane Sect. Bound by his grandfather's final wish, he travels to fulfill a long-standing engagement to Carla Steele.
Instead of welcoming him, the Steele family rejects the marriage agreement outright. They mock his background and even try to buy him off, hoping he'll disappear and never return.
Disappointed but determined to move on, Michael's path takes an unexpected turn when he saves a young child with an extraordinary healing technique. His remarkable ability immediately draws the attention of an influential member of the Arcane Sect.
Just as events begin to shift in his favor, an urgent plea for help comes from the Steele family.
