Egwu Ekpili is a style of Igbo music that started in present day southeast region of Nigeria, formerly the Republic of Biafra. It uses locally made instruments such as “Ubo” (a thumb guitar) and “Ichaka” which is still being used till today.
The pioneers of Egwu Ekpili music are: Emeka Morocco , Ozoemena Nsugbe and many more.
