Controversial Nigerian singer Habeeb Okikiola, widely known as , has been remanded in custody after an Ogun State court declined his bail application over multiple criminal allegations.

The artiste was arraigned on Monday, January 12, 2026, before the sitting in Ota, Ogun State, where he faced a nine-count charge bordering on assault, theft, and obstruction of police duties. The charges reportedly stem from a formal complaint filed by his estranged partner, Ashabi Simple.

Details of the charges

According to the Ogun State Police Command, the incident leading to the charges allegedly occurred on New Year's Day at Portable's bar in Iyana Ilogbo. Prosecutors told the court that the singer was involved in a confrontation that escalated into physical assault against Ashabi Simple and other individuals present at the venue.

The police further alleged that Portable assaulted a serving police officer, Inspector Ogungbe Olayemi, while she was carrying out her official duties. In addition to the assault allegations, the singer was accused of stealing a Mercedes-Benz E300 valued at approximately ₦12 million, said to belong to Ileyemi Damilola and purchased from Wally Dex Auto.
